Colombia · Pitalito
A 90+ cup with the unmistakable lift of anise — floral, herbal, and impossibly clean.
The Story
Purple Caturra is rare on its own. Add an anaerobic fermentation and a producer who scored above 90 on the cup, and you have one of the most distinctive coffees we have ever sourced.
The anise note is real — herbaceous, sweet, almost confectionery — riding on a base of sugar cane and toasted almond. It is the kind of cup that stops conversation at the table.
Brew it as filter and treat it gently. Lower temperatures, longer pours. This is a coffee to drink black, slowly, while it cools and unfolds.
